My FIRST ever solo trip!!! - Barcelona

My first solo travel was to Barcelona!! This is where it all began, where I felt that "oh solo travel wasn´t scary or boring as I first thought". Here is everything I recommend doing:

Barcelona has a bit of everything; shopping, beach and beautiful art and architecture. The art and buildings by Antoni Gaudí are what I love the most about Barcelona, it´s very inspiring and cool!

Explore Antoni Gaudí's artwork!!

La sagrada familia!! A most to visit inside!

La Sagrada Familia. It cost around 20 euros to go inside, which might be a bit pricey considering most museums have entrance fee, however, this one is worth it! I love artists that do something unique, in this case, the inside of the church is like a forest:)

Park Güell

Park Güell. Another beautiful artwork by Antoni Gaudí. There is one part of the park you can pay to see, which is worth it if you want to capture better pictures! If you google "Barcelona", this is most likely the first place that comes up!

Casa Batlló

Another famous building by Antoni Gaudí. I didn't go inside, but I will next time ;)

You will see Casa Amatller building next to it!

Casa Milá

Casa Milá - by Antoni Gaudí, I passed by it with the free walking tour.

Cathedral of Barcelona

You can also go on top of the roof for around 3 euros!

There are some free walking tours starting from here, strongly recommend as they talk through the history and visit other touristy places.

Columbus Monument

Maybe fun to know that the statue is Columbus.

Rambla De Mar

Rambla De Mar. Beautiful walk beside the sea and among the palm trees.

Ciutadella Park

You can also bike around the area, so u don´t end up walking too much as I did :PP

Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona

Montjuic

Visit Montjuic for a view, during the night the fountain light up and it´s a show:) It´s close to Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and Camp Nou (football place). I also passed by Montjuic castle on the way.

Daytrip to Montserrat - If you like hiking!

Fun story: I actually had no idea I was heading here. There is a small hill in Barcelona, which I actually thought I was going to.... Just when I was about to leave, a few friends I met in my hostel told me they also were going to the hill. We decided to go together. We took the train, (and in my mind, I was thinking about why we didn´t just walk, bc it was like 5 min away:P). After 3 stations we got off and I thought "finally", but then they were heading towards changing trains lol. We both soon realize we had thought of different placed to visit.

We laughed a lot and I decided to join them :PP I recommend bringing some snacks/sandwich/water/fruit, which u also can buy in Montserrat.

What to eat

My hostel had "family dinners" every day, so I ate my dinners there. This is one of the best ways to meet other people:)) For other days I ate tapas (small dishes with a lot of alternatives), even paella as tapas is possible:PP

Tapas!

Paella!
